The Skirted Soldier

What We Do

I served on active duty Air Force from 1993-2001. I was honorably discharged with several medals after being stationed in TX, MD, NC and Germany. I was a trauma surgery technologist who was injured in a combat medical training exercise, and am a service connected disabled veteran.

At The Skirted Solider, we produce onsite compost using our alpaca beans and compost. We have a 35 plant vineyard, an 8 plant blueberry patch, several beds of raspberries, garlic and herbs. We start from seed in our onsite greenhouse, many plants for our garden to include lettuce, beans, cukes, zucchini, squash, peppers, tomatoes, beets, brussel sprouts and cabbage. We also bottle our own wine, and have recently started The Skirted Soldier which sources products from member owned cooperatives and community supported agriculture groups.

We belong to the PA Veteran Farmers Group, Troops to Tractors, Farmer Veteran Coalition, and PA Preferred. We have always enjoyed gardening and have expanded over the years. We just added chickens to the farm, so we will have fresh brown eggs to offer as well.
